I take more time at the initial evaluation than the typical prescriber. I believe it’s beneficial to collect all of the information to “paint” the most complete “picture” of the patient’s case. Asking more questions, some not typically asked, means I have all the information to make a proper diagnosis. I like to understand someone’s history, and daily struggles, to ensure we go in right direction. The initial office visit typically lasts 90 minutes to 2 hours. This session covers your recent symptoms and corresponding life stressors, past psychiatric history including hospitalizations and outpatient care, drug and alcohol history and current use patterns, support, and psychosocial history including childhood, education, and occupational history. I end the visit with treatment options.
Based on the main issue or diagnosis, I present options we can consider so you can be active in your own care.
Medication management follow-up visits may last between 15 and 30 minutes and monitor your tolerance to the medication, side effects, and any changes to symptoms.
Payment
In-network provider for Regence Blue Cross & Blue Shield, Moda (formerly ODS), Cigna, and Mental Health Network (also known as Health Net), as well as out-of-network insurance providers. Provider will also accept direct payment for services if the patient chooses not to use insurance.
Payment for services can be made using a personal check; Cash, Visa and MasterCard are accepted, however, American Express is not.
